Mapland Features
Mapland has everything you need to transform your geographic data into high quality maps. We have added powerful features to the latest version of Mapland. When creating a Pin Map you can choose from your own graphic images. Our Screen Tip feature allows you to move your cursor over a map object and your data will be displayed on the screen. The Distance tool allows you to find the Distance in Miles between two City or 5-Digit Zip Code pin points on a map. Another great feature includes plotting Cities or 5-Digit Zip Codes pin points within a number of miles of a given city or 5-digit zip code. Other new features include Splitting a group of objects, Printing selected objects on a map and an easier way to select multiple map object.
Mapland works with Excel® 97 through Excel® 2010. Mapland is also compatible with Office 97, Office 2000, Office 2002(XP), Office 2003, Office 2007 & Office 2010.
Use your own data or import data into Excel to create custom maps. Create different map types based on sales, customer locations, demographics, etc.
Insert your maps into PowerPoint presentations or Word documents.
Use Excel's Drawing toolbar to draw lines, circles, arrows, freeform shapes or to type text on the map.
Save the map in your Excel file. The map can be viewed by anyone who has Excel, they don't need Mapland.

Mapland at a glance
Easily eliminate portions of a map you don't want. Simply, click on an object or objects and choose "cut". Then, use the Map Enlarge tool to resize the remaining objects.
Use the ExcelŽ Drawing toolbar to draw lines, arrows, circles, shapes and type text on your map.
Create Shaded Maps using any colors you choose.
Create Pin Maps by placing pins, object names and/or data on the map.
The Geography List option will automatically list the name of every geographic object on a map.
Insert your own data in the spreadsheet or import data from other applications.
All maps come annotated with state names, county names, etc.

Another way to display your data on a map
Use our new Screen Tip feature to display your data on map. Move your cursor over any map object and the data belonging to that map object will be displayed on the map. This feature works in ExcelŽ versions 2000 and up.

Customize Pin Maps using your own graphic images. You graphic files now become a choice within Mapland when creating Pin Maps. This feature works in ExcelŽ versions 2000 and up.

New Pie Map Options

Find the Distance Between Two Points
Find the Distance between two City or 5-Digit Zip Code points on a map. The Distance can be displayed on the map, screen or on your spreadsheet. Select Miles or Kilometers. The distance measured is based on the pin point centroid location. This feature works in ExcelŽ versions 2000 and up.

Plotting Cities or 5-Digit Zip Codes Within a Given Mileage
Highlight your list of Cities or 5-Digit Zip Codes in ExcelŽ and Mapland will plot points based on the number of miles/kilometers from a given city or 5-digit zip code. The distance measured is based on the pin point centroid location. This feature works with ExcelŽ versions 2000 and up.

Select Multiple Objects
Select Map Objects by checking the object names from a list. Once selected you can delete, move, format, group, etc.

Print Selected Map Objects
You can print just a portion of a map by selecting the map objects. This feature works with ExcelŽ versions 2000 and up.

Blank Maps
Create a Shaded, Pin, Column or Pie map using your data.

Use Patterns to shade your map
Shade your map using patterns. Great for black and white printers!.

Creating a Pin Map
Choose from a wide variety of Pin Shapes!
Label pins with names and your data. Easily move or format the text labels.

Split an object in half using the line, scribble or curve tool. With the Line tool you can split an object or a group of objects.!
